Work History

Production Supervisor

Schulte Composites
04.2024 - 11.2024
  • Oversee production and engineering personnel
  • Planning and overseeing the manufacturing of production hardware for all the different processes and for all the clients, as well as observing and analyzing processes to find ways of improving quality and efficiency
  • Ensuring quality standards and policies were applied in all areas, including production shop floor, warehouse, and offices
  • Ensure blueprints and BOMs were up to date to the clients requirements and making sure those changes were communicated to the shop floor people
  • Overseeing and ensuring raw materials and consumables were ordered in time, to guarantee production did not stop
  • Keep track of production molds to keep them stored when not in use, and to ensure maintenance and repair was performed on them on a timely basis
  • Ensure TPMs and maintenance was performed on all equipment and machinery, including company vehicles
  • Manage and evaluate equipment resources to guarantee productivity and minimize downtime
  • Recovery on passed due orders
  • Starting in April 2024, orders were late as to December 2023; by late September 2024, orders were up to date
  • Reducing defects on RTM process by updating the process of application of mold release, also eliminating the need for using metal tools to de-mold parts, and thus, reducing the risk of damaging the molds
  • Reducing production time on manual lamination process by optimizing downtime, having the operator trim and grind previously cured parts, while waiting for parts on molds to cure
  • Total process time for one lot of 30 pieces, from 10 days to 6 days
  • Improved quality on vacuum bagged parts by implementing a silicone squeegee to squeeze out the excess of resin and air bubbles
  • Reviewed process schedule to trim and grind vacuum bagged parts after laminating one set, instead of piling up parts allowing for more time for any reworks to cure at room temperature instead of accelerating cure time in the oven, and risking overheating parts and popping up air bubbles, brush marks and fabric print on skin coat
  • Helped finishing up all work instructions, review, edit and release to the shop floor

Lead Engineer for the Composites Materials Area

Williams International
09.2018 - 11.2023
  • Responsible for coordinating manufacturing process of the composite materials cell to meet company’s production schedule
  • Also responsible of solving any engineering related issue and implementing improvements
  • Also responsible of managing and supervising cell’s personnel, promoting a labor environment that boost teamwork and communication to reach goals and area targets
  • Responsible for keeping blueprints, bill of materials, and work instructions up to date, and training personnel on any updates
  • Overseeing inventory control, shelf life, gages and tools calibrations
  • Coordinating with purchasing on purchase orders, advising on materials requirements, quantities, material usage, shelf life
  • Reduction of late hours/behind schedule by 80% within first seven months
  • Increase of production capacity in 41%, by creating alternate shift, and reducing downtime
  • Reduction of scrap percentage by using root cause analysis
  • Training and certification of operators to increase efficiency
  • Reduced process time and energy cost by implementing thermal insulation jacket for resin transfer mold, making heating/curing cycle steadier and faster

Quality Engineer

Williams International
01.2013 - 01.2018
  • Worked as part of the MRB team, reviewing all non-conforming material, and then giving feedback to the design and manufacturing departments, proposing Corrective Actions to prevent issues recurrence
  • Worked with products from different areas: casting, machining, assembly, special processes (heat treats, chemical coatings, etc.) and non-destructive tests (x-ray, magnetic particle inspection and penetrant inspection)
  • Used multiple different measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, shadowgraph, dial indicators, etc.)
  • Training and certification for M&B authority, to other team leaders
  • Trained personnel in writing proper DRs and reduced 80% the time to process a DR, from the day its written, to the time of disposition
  • Identified root cause of repetitive issues, and proposed corrective actions to manufacturing teams, to reduce the amount of rejected parts per lot

Design Engineer

Williams International
01.2011 - 01.2012
  • Re-designing and escalating production parts for different engines
  • Design of machining fixtures, tooling, etc
  • Optimized existing designs, reducing production costs and enhancing overall performance.
  • Streamlined the design process for increased efficiency by utilizing advanced CAD software tools.
  • Addressed design challenges and evaluated alternative design models to meet project requirements.
  • Collaborated with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of engineering designs into final products.

Intern

Williams International
09.2010 - 12.2010
  • Helped developing a new process for the engine nacelles (manual assembly)
  • Complete and release blueprints, created manufacturing planning (Standard Operating Procedure), and produced first set of pieces
  • Supported staff members in their daily tasks, reducing workload burden and allowing for increased focus on higher-priority assignments.
  • Gained valuable experience working within a specific industry, applying learned concepts directly into relevant work situations.
  • Gained hands-on experience in various software programs, increasing proficiency and expanding technical skill set.
