Work History

PSO (Protected Species Observer)

RPS Tetratech
1 2021 - Current
  • Monitoring protected species during industry activities in offshore wind farm development and energy exploration surveys, documenting and reporting statistically therefore increasing mitigation for potential impacts to those protected species, or animals federally protected under Endangered Species Act (ESA) and/or Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA).
  • Maintained database systems to track and analyze operational data.
  • Supported research efforts through the meticulous organization and maintenance of field equipment, ensuring optimal performance during observations.

PAM Operator (Passive Acoustic Monitoring)

RPS Tetratech
01.2022 - Current
  • Carrying out acoustic monitoring and detection of marine mammals during surveys to reduce potential for injury or harassment of protected species throughout course of industry activities enabling compliance in accordance with the stipulated mitigation measures of every project.
  • Calibrated software to maintain required acoustic levels and adherence to quality standards.

President

Maya Lac Association, Without Jungle, there is no Life
01.2017 - 07.2021
  • Audio visual project "Following the Mayan Train" (Established awareness and inform population of environmental, cultural, economic and social scope of the project)
  • Reforestation program with greenhouses in the Lacandon Jungle, managing over 50 volunteers to achieve so.
  • Performed Surveillances program to combat looting of Flora and Fauna in Lacanja Chansayab community, Chiapas

Researcher

YO AMO BACALAR / CASA LAMAT
01.2019 - 01.2020
  • An investigation was carried out on the situation of Bacalar Lagoon, Quintana Roo using parameters of the lagoon's water quality provided by National Water Commission (CONAGUA) and Potable Water and Sewerage Commission (CAPA) in a series of 8 years which were treated statistically.
  • Results showed that the lagoon system is transforming into a mesotrophic environment and could result in rapid eutrophication of Bacalar lagoon.

Researcher and Plant Manager

MAYAN STAR FISHERIES S DE RL DE CV
01.2010 - 01.2013
  • Cooperated with founders in construction of both business strategy and designing scientific method to keep lobster alive.
  • Over 50 tons of Panulirus argus maintenance for live exportation to China
  • Responsible of lobster surveillance by measuring different parameters in tanks and maintaining proper balance previously established in the founding research
  • Supervision of packing and negotiation with fishing Cooperatives increasing sales by 50%.

Research Assistant

COMISION NACIONAL DE AREAS PROTEGIDAS (CONANP)
01.2009 - 01.2010
  • Eradication program of Pterois volitans was performed based on results of marine population census that established Pterois volitans as invasive species of the Caribbean sea
  • Hypothesis was tested through inspection campaigns and biological monitoring in Puerto Morelos’ National Park, more than 50 kg of fish were eradicated.
