Alicia Ivette Sierra

I am an academic and higher education executive with over 20 years of experience in institutional leadership, academic management, curriculum design, and the development of high-performance teams.

Throughout my career, I have worked on building educational environments where leadership is not only exercised through formal structures, but also through emotional intelligence, conscious decision-making, and the development of human talent. I have also been actively involved in curriculum design, updating, and implementation processes, aligning academic programs with quality standards, contextual needs, and contemporary educational models.

My line of work focuses on analyzing executive leadership and its impact on key variables such as motivation, sense of belonging, job satisfaction, and organizational performance. I am currently pursuing doctoral research focused on the influence of emotional intelligence on leadership and its effect on high-performance teams within higher education institutions.

As Director of Academic Leadership, I have participated in strategic processes related to institutional development, evaluation, and capacity building, collaborating in the design of initiatives aimed at enhancing educational quality, curricular relevance, and organizational commitment.

I am also a speaker and writer, contributing to academic and reflective spaces on leadership, education, and emotional intelligence. My approach integrates theory, practice, educational design, and real-world experience in organizational contexts.

As Director of Academic Leadership, I lead the design and implementation of institutional strategies aimed at strengthening academic quality, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.

I oversee curriculum innovation processes, ensuring that academic programs align with institutional goals, quality standards, and evolving educational demands. I also promote faculty development through training, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance teaching performance and student learning outcomes.

A key part of my role involves fostering high-performance teams by integrating leadership principles grounded in emotional intelligence, collaboration, and a strong sense of purpose. I work closely with academic leaders and faculty to support decision-making processes, improve organizational climate, and reinforce a culture of commitment and belonging.

Additionally, I contribute to institutional planning, accreditation processes, and the development of strategic projects that drive innovation, academic excellence, and sustainable growth within the university.
