  • In charge of consolidating the financial information of the properties in the region the Americas to report to corporate on a monthly basis as well as assisting the teams on implementing internal control and policies and procedures

  • Being part of Amangiri’s team in the area of finance represents an incredible responsibility due to the importance of the resort among the Aman Collection
  • As the Financial Controller with six direct reports represented by accounting team and warehouse, we are the support department in the financial area for the various teams
  • Monthly reporting, managing the daily operation are my main responsibilities however there are quite a few projects planned for 2022 that will allow a more efficient and productive operation such as: Implementation of a new purchasing & inventory system, automation of daily revenue report and payment automation

  • Working for this resort has been a new experience in my career due to the unique and complex operation since all Property Management Systems are interfaced
  • Another interesting characteristic of this property is the 'Shared Services' component
  • Many services, such as payroll are provided by shared services to all entities within the complex, same goes for certain IT Services, surveillance, legal, security, etc., this set up, requires a good understanding of costs allocations to ensure fair share
  • A total of 13 employees report directly to me, but all departments in the Resort report to me from a finance standpoint
  • Budget preparation, forecast monthly update, cash flow, key financial indicators such as flow throughs, are some of main responsibilities

  • Very similar reporting line and responsibilities than in previous property since I continue working for same Company, this includes the monthly reports, financial targets and compliances with corporate guidelines
  • One main difference vs previous property is a more complex tax regulation environment
