Research on Childhood Cancer
Cristian Huchim is originally from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. He studied Medicine at Autonomous University of Yucatan. During his final year of medical school, he was invited to get a position as a Research Trainee at Hospital Infantil de Mexico “Federico Gomez” in Mexico City. Currently, he is working under the supervision and guidance of medical professionals in the field of Molecular Biology of Cancer.
He is actively involved in academic and research activities, and has contributed to the development and advancement of childhood cancer research. His passion for healthcare goes beyond his work at the hospital, as an example, he volunteers in Surgical Mission Trips to Guatemala, and participates as a member of the editorial board for a global health journal.
Also, he has a strong dedication to improving outcomes of pediatric patients who suffer from malignant neoplasm through research collaboration.
As a peer reviewer, I provide feedback and make suggestions for authors who intend to publish in the journal.
My job consists of performing the following tasks:
I completed my medical intern year working at “Hospital Regional Elvia Carrillo Puerto ISSSTE”. During this year I gained experience working along with different specialists, nurses and multiple health-care workers in the areas of: internal medicine, rheumatology, emergency medicine, family medicine, gynecology-obstetrics, pediatrics, general surgery and orthopedics.
