Maintenance Engineer Intern

Project:

Conduct a methodical evaluation of bottlenecks in the crankshaft production line to identify opportunities for increasing Overall Process Efficiency (OPE) and reducing Machining Cycle Time (MCT).


Key Actions:

  • Identified bottlenecks by measuring machining cycle times (MCT) across production bays.
  • Performed continuous improvement analysis, including: optimization of PLC programming logic, enhancement of robot positioning routes, adjustment of safety zones and implementation of carriers in robotic systems.


Additional Contributions:

  • Updated maintenance performance charts, including LTIR, TRIR, FTC, OPE, Non-OPE, and maintenance cost metrics.
  • Migrated HMI screens from MP 277 10” to TP1200 12” Comfort using Step7, WinCC, and TIA Portal V13.
  • Automated Excel processes using macros to streamline data retrieval and transformation, improving database feeding and departmental efficiency.
  • Developed multiple Power BI dashboards connected to SharePoint folders for visualizing: Work Tickets, Weekly Maintenance Reports. MRO – Material Spending, Financial Performance and Requisition Status.
  • Created decision-support dashboards for maintenance, such as: Landis wheel diameter tracking and Dynamic mass positioning post-balancing (Etxetar)
  • Authored and reviewed SMPs and JSRAs for maintenance activities.
