Experienced educator with over 20 years of expertise in applied linguistics, syllabus development, Cambridge ESOL exam preparation, and school management. Proven track record of driving organizational growth through effective project management and leadership. Skilled at guiding students to excel in international English examinations using innovative teaching methods. Passionate, creative, and results-oriented with a strong background in academic department administration, teacher training, and project planning. Proficient in working independently or collaboratively within teaching teams, with extensive expertise in phonetics and vocabulary acquisition across diverse education environments.
Gave classes to students with different proficiency levels, being also in charge of monitoring pupils with regard to their attendance, performance &, punctuality.
My professional upbringing strayed from the usual path, rather than receiving a formal instruction or training. The shape of my practice was self-taught, based on study, experimentation, and continuous development through different interactions with students, colleagues and professors from various institutions of the educational spectrum who helped shape my conception of teaching, and who allowed me to gain experience and develop an autonomous academic persona.
In 2004 I undertook the studies of applied linguistics at UNAM, but due to my responsibilities at that time I decided to leave my degree unfinished. At present, oriented by motivations of family nature, I am under the certification program for the degree in English language teaching through CENEVAL, having successfully completed the first of two stages. Likewise, at the end of this year, considering that it would be a significant complement to my professional profile, it is in my plans to study English literature at UNAM in the open system mode.
I have been involved in applied linguistics, ELT research, syllabus development, school management, teacher-training, and preparation and overviewing for Cambridge ESOL examinations for the last 22 years. I had been the head of different academic and administrative departments in different educational institutions being in charge of legal, budgeting and purchasing. As part of my responsibilities, I established and cultivated business relationships with publishing houses, educational institutions, and Cambridge ESOL representatives. I have also been involved in selection and recruitment of personal for the last 17 years and have trained both native and non-native teachers, who either undertook the bachelor's degree in applied linguistics motivated by this training or are currently working in prestigious universities or in key positions of the educational spectrum.
I'm familiar with different methodologies and approaches in education, being quite fond of the field of phonetics and vocabulary acquisition in which I have developed methodological tools and materials. I have personally taught students for Cambridge ESOL examinations main suite (KET-CAE/TKT) and TOEFL for the last seventeen years, leading the school I last administered to be recognized as an official Cambridge Preparation Test center in 2013. I have been an active member of MEXTESOL since 2005 and had attended their conventions on a regular basis.
I feel that my greatest strengths are firstly my strong commitment to teaching to the highest possible standards. Secondly the constant self-reflecting on my teaching and my methods in order to take me and the people whom I work alongside to a greater level of performance. Thirdly my desire to do everything possible to ensure that my pupils not only meet but indeed exceed all of the academic goals and targets set for them.
To be a key member in a large educational company or school being a key component to the organization, being able to share my experience in order to craft new ideas and trends in order to consolidate the organization`s values and views.
I would like to find my niche within a growth oriented institution, where I can apply my teaching/management skills to an environment where they will make a significant impact on the people. The ideal atmosphere would be entrepreneurial and educational in which new ideas are welcome, teamwork is essential and decision making is required.
I Spend my free time coaching teenagers and managing a junior team in state leagues, state competitions and national meets and tournaments.
