From 2009 up to date:

I have been involved with the board of investors for this last three companies described, we were a group of 3 students from UC Santa Barbara, California, U.S., investors and my self beginning this exciting journey and since then I have accomplish several personal golds such as being part of the first global leader company in regenerative seaweed production for a sustainable future of the planet and our oceans.

From 2009 to 2022 my position was Director General (also Legal representant of the Mexican entities) and since 2022 up to date I have been promoted as a Director of Sales and Business Development. This new position is been everything I always wanted after completing the whole chain of production to sales.

My experience is in the area of: Cultivation, Production, Quality Assurance, Oversight, Management and Developing Sales.

I have over 10 years of Experience as Manager of Operation for different Companies, cultivating sustainable aquaculture systems, ranging from scientific research and development to applicable real world use case scenarios and leadership exp.

  • Demonstrated products to show potential customers benefits and advantages and encourage purchases.
  • Implemented systems and procedures to increase sales. Such as developed two new products in order to be able to offer prototypes of products B to B and the market segment of Ingredients and retail customers.
  • Developed the first prototype of fresh seaweed product retail and distribute it in the Southern part of México (Sales Project , currently on the go). This with all the safety and quality assurance requirements in order to be labeled and commercialized in México.
  • Developed the first prototype of spices made with seaweed powder in México (Sales Project , currently on the go) distributed Nationalwise.
  • Assist and Promote at Food Technology Conventions Worldwide, interacted with community to increase sales volume. Such as National Restaurant Association Convection U.S., IFT ( Food Improved by Reserch, Science, and Technology Convention, U.S.) , Food Tech Summit & Expo, México.

General Director Of Operations

The Director General of Mexican Operations (DGMO) oversees Blue Evolution’s aquaculture and process operations in Mexico and reports directly to VP of Operations US/Mexico.

The DGMO serves as a supply-side contact to the VP of Operations and BE Foods to create best practices and determine ongoing processing plant production demands. The DGMO is tasked with implementing BE Operating Board’s corporate strategy, oversee long-term growth and implement cost saving strategies in Mexico Operations which currently include ‘UABC’ and ‘Erendira’ farms with future sites TBD.

The position is based in the Northern Baja region.

Primary Responsibilities.

The DGMO guides the Initial setup and serves as the Mexican POC in ongoing leadership of day to day operations of PROMAC Mexico, including:

  • Manage investment for research and technology development of sustainable offshore aquaculture and industrial production.
  • ·Created best practices for production in farm and processing plant. Established key performance indicators and works toward Operations Board’s annual budget and goals. From PROMAC’S establishment until present, responsibilities include procurement of infrastructure, interviewing and hiring of personnel, determining appropriate harvest yield expectations, QA and product production, packaging and export/import/transport.
  • Implementation of legal requirements/kosher certification, design manual of GMPs, manual of production, quality assurance system, tractability, production records etc..
  • Procurement and Construction of facilities: Purchase and/or design of necessary equipment (G80 Mill design-oversight of trials, machinery/equipment adaptation design-coordination with electricians, oversight of electrical substation installation) Managing personnel on the water during the installations with the divers.
  • Hiring: job description creation, interviewing personnel, designing contracts, charting projection of expenses for each employee along with recordkeeping, introduction and training of duties and daily tasks for each member, delegation to appropriate parties.
  • Determining Harvest expectations: writing the manual and flowchart for procedures needed to make end product, oversight of yield along with farm heads of production, determining the time needed to address the process on shifts of 8 hours, determining the capacity of the processing plant without hiring more people than necessary.
  • Ensuring QA procedures aline with kosher certifications and Non-GMO,USDA Organic , Vegan and SQF certifications for the better future of the company, apply them in the production processes and comply with scheduled and unscheduled audits.
  • Packaging oversight: decide what to print, sequence of lots, label design.
  • Transport oversight: determine logistics of transportation of raw material to production site or from production site to exportation to the USA.
  • Serve as PROMAC Mexico POC. Experience working in Mexico and serve as advisor to Mexican business customs, culture, legalities and price rates. Contracting key co-contributors, managing relationships and expectations, cross functional duties and collaboration such as:
  • Incorporation and setup of PROMAC Mexico legal entities, outreach to potential partners, administration, and ongoing human resources projections.
  • POC and management of contracts between UABC/PROMAC in order to use infrastructure from UABC to develop technology for cultivation.
  • Overview third parties entities (i.e. construction and electrical suppliers)
  • Recordkeeping: serves as POC with Mexican accountant, exportation of end product paperwork. POC between brokers needs, logistics and transportation to export and import products and equipment.
  • Supervise, support, and guide project staff to achieve daily, weekly and monthly program and budgetary goals. Collaborate with VP to set and direct the daily operations in PROMAC Mexico including:
  • Active management of staff : determines and delegates weekly EE responsibilities, daily follow-up for weekly and monthly projections, reviews EE Logs for processing and determines individual outputs and efficiency.
  • Weekly meetings with colleagues to create production plan and determine whether projections are correct.
  • Oversees harvests from individual units to determine if yields are as projected.
  • Organizes logistics and transport weekly.
  • Evaluates infrastructure available to address the deliverables. Guides purchasing for farm, processing, drying, packaging.Led organization by developing professional and ethical culture focused on good manufacturing practices and high quality and safety standards.
  • Formulated analysis assessments to make informed decisions on proposed projects.

First Non-profit to implement ecological aquaculture in open ocean environment.

The main objective was to help coastal communities transition from overfishing and destructive seafood farming practices to more ecologically and financially sound livelihoods through a high technology alternatives of ecological aquaculture.

Primary Responsibilities.

· Legal representant.

· Preminary data collection for research into natural feedstock potential in pods, include gathering information of samples at fishing and farming companies in San Carlos Mexico in collaboration with research institutions.

· Coordinate planning for Olazul pilot project to include species selection, broodstock harvest, hatchery/nursery operations, feed design, offshore grow out, harvest and marketing. Also developing research and development program parallel with production.

· Liaise with stakeholders in México including non profit organizations, business, government agencies, fishing communities and research/educational institutions.

· Set up of Olazul Mexico legal entity including incorporation, management, accounting, outreach, administration, and human resources.

· Collected data for the Bren School project. "Spatial planning for sustainable offshore shrimp aquaculture".

· Assist with general production of Olazul documentary project in coordination with UCSB interns in 2011.

· Monthly reports to board on activities/ Progress and challenges.

· Handle all outreach with Olazul partners and contacts in industry, civil society and government.

· Manage all contracts, human resource issues and administrative duties related to Olazul projects in México.

· Handle coordination, setup, accounting, and oversights of all Olazul projects in MX. including:

1) Educational training programs.

2) Feed substitute and natural productivity research and development efforts.

3) Native species hatchery.

4) Artisanal offshore shrimp farm pilot.

· Manage all contracts, human resource issues and administrative duties related to Olazul projects in México
