  • Moving to Mexico in 2000, James Young worked for Mexico’s arts and culture ministry Conaculta from 2001-2004 as an assistant curator at the Centro de la Imagen’s in-house new media and technology-based art space Sala del Cielo in Mexico City, drawing on his Honors Bachelors in Science for Physics from Florida State University
  • He also curated independent art shows in the capital before joining the Miami Herald as its arts and living editor for the Mexico edition from 2004-2007, when the project closed
  • He became the Mexico correspondent for Hollywood trade outlet Variety from 2008 to 2013, where he remains a resource when needed
  • Young also acted as a regular correspondent for Market News International (2010-2013), and editor at the Intellichem LatAm Petrochemical newsletter 2009-2013
