Currently serving the ASFC school community and in charge of the Pedagogical Leadership Team, as well as the extended leadership team, to plan, oversee and asses our key teaching and learning process, working directly with the Academic Level Principals, as well as the head of Educational Orientation to ensure we continue to focus on our mission of inspiring a love of learning in our students, as well as providing a high quality, integral educational experience for our students. Also working with and supervising leaders and heads of other support areas such as Admissions, School Services, Human Resources, Marketing, Tech Support, Extension /Outreach, Events, and Facilities Maintenance. Recently reviewed and updated both the operational improvement plan, as well as our medium to long term strategic plan under the umbrella of our Continuous Improvement program, which currently includes a significant emphasis on obtaining COGNIA (formerly Advanced-Ed) accreditation by the summer of 2021. Also in charge of managing the school's yearly operational budget.

  • As part of the school’s leadership team, I am currently in charge of the ECA program, which consists of over 30 athletic and cultural activities, with more than 100 different groups, over 100 staff members (internal and external instructors), and more than 900 students enrolled.
  • In charge of the planning and execution of the program in all its facets, from the sign-up process to the execution and evaluation of classes.
  • This includes planning and supervising students and staff before, during and after the activities.
  • This also includes an important risk-management/child protection component, as well as the elaboration and management of a yearly budget.
  • Also in charge of organizing events, both local and external, throughout the year, as well as overseeing logistics for various trips outside of the country, mainly to academic and athletic competitions and tournaments throughout Central America as part of the AASCA program.
  • This involves working directly and collaboratively with all academic and administrative areas of the school.
  • This includes the transportation logistics in coordination with the bus office for students leaving campus after all of the activities.
  • Also in charge of the all the internal communication with staff, as well as with parents, regarding activities, events, and key processes being carried out throughout the year.
  • Was able to streamline the program, reduce the number of incidents involving child safety, as well as implementing the use of an important activities management tool called Schools Buddy.

  • As member of the school’s leadership team, directly managed the administrative and teaching staff focusing in the general operation of the newest school section (High School), starting with the first generation of students.
  • Was directly responsible for all of the administrative and academic processes, including planning, execution and evaluation of all classes in all disciplines under the national DGB (Dirección General de Bachilleratos) program, including the teacher evaluation and supervision process.
  • The direct leadership council included the section Guidance Counselor, eventually the Academic Director, as well as the Student Records and Cleaning and Maintenance supervisors.
  • This implied indirectly supervising of the student follow up process (PSA), which included both academic and social follow up of students, through diagnostic, preventive and corrective processes.
  • This area was also in charge of student events and activities.
  • The supervision of all student record processes, included student registration, grade reporting and extra-ordinary exam application and reporting before the Department of Education (IEA), among others.
  • The position also involved supervising and managing of physical spaces and resources, as well as the maintenance of the same.
  • Was able to establish a very positive, rewarding relationship with members of the staff, students and parents.

  • Worked directly with the General Academic Director, on the one hand, with the general curricular design process for the new High School section, including the documentation required for the state department of public education (IEA), related to the affiliation and authorization process.
  • Also worked on the curricular redesign of the school wide English Program, focusing on bibliographical support resources and certifications including those to be used within the admissions process for new incoming students.
  • The last few months of this position also became directly involved with the MYP program coordination, taking over for the Coordinator that left in the month of May of this year.
  • This involved undergoing the training process, and eventually taking charge of the implementation of the four-year program, under the supervision of the Middle School Principal.
  • This implied supervising the written, taught and evaluated curriculum, ensuring that all the pertinent norms of the program were implemented by all the agents involved, focusing mainly on the planning, execution and evaluation of the different learning units in all disciplinary areas, ensuring that all the guidelines of each of the subject area programs were followed and adhered to.

  • Effectively coordinated and supervised school heads or coordinators at the kinder, primary, middle school and high school levels, and all of their corresponding teachers, and support staff, including development and supervision of weekly, and unit lesson plans, monthly class observations, as well as diagnostic, formative and summative assessments.
  • This also involves academic and disciplinary follow-up of students and its corresponding communication with parents, teachers, and level directors to achieve a high level of student academic performance and a healthy school environment.
  • Also directly involved with the implementation, supervision and assessment of the IBO’s (International Baccalaureate Organization) PYP (Primary Years Program) at the preschool and primary levels, with the ultimate goal eventually becoming a true IB World School, implementing all three programs (PYP, MYP, and Diploma).
  • Other achievements include: the majority of students that graduate from our Middle School and High School sections obtain top scores on entrance exams at distinguished Universities such as Tec de Monterrey (ITESM), Universidad del Valle de Mexico (UVM), UDLAP and most recently Loyola University in the U.S.
  • At the time also in the process of obtaining official “Green School” certification by the federal Ministry of the Environment (SEMARNAT) and boast the highest level of English language proficiency among our students in comparison to other distinguished private schools in the city and the state of Chiapas.
