Manage, coordinate, and lead the commercial aspects in the Program Acquisition and Development Phase of the project.
Partner with the Program Manager to collaborate with Sales, Product Engineering, Project Purchasing, Process Planning/Advanced Manufacturing, Logistics and Plant Management to keep the bottom-up costing aligned to product/process designs and commercial boundaries set with the customer.
Understand the competitive environment during the acquisition phase, drive alignment on “gap to target” and continuously maintaining the integrity of product costing in each successive price offering to sales.
Maintain costing database including raw materials, purchased parts, labor/process routings, overhead rates, CAPEX, tooling, etc. through the life cycle of the program.
Partner with the program manager to provide timely financial analysis for monthly and quarterly reporting, and at various program gate reviews. This includes monitoring of financial risks, risk mitigation actions, and improvement opportunities.
Participate in management discussions on program financials and partner with the program manager to drive financial success of programs (Achieve Financial KPIs).
Provide costing support for cost improvement activities.
We receive the drawings for all the new business for existent and new customers, review the prints and proper specs in order to determinate the material to be used on each harness, if the material it’s new for us we quote the new materials with the requested supplier, after we have all the material cost we have to determinate the labor cost, request the CAPEX and tooling cost if it's needed, once when we have all the costs involved on the harness production we determinate a competitive sales price, if the payback of the new business it's acceptable the quote it's approved and sent to the customer.
Prior to this position had the function of a product engineer. As a Product I'm responsible for design, development, and manufacturing support of products to meet the manufacturing, safety, quality, cost, and marketing objectives from our clients and internally. Must estimate development costs and monitor assigned projects through all phases of development. Position involves close coordination with manufacturing, quality, marketing, industrial design, and customer base.
Maintaining control over product engineering changes and establishes different harnesses cost in the system BPCS and give technical support to assigned clients, quote or re-quote any change in the product or new products and provide the customer with this information, review and follow up quotations for new projects and engineering changes.
