  • Responsible to open new client relationships, strengthen current client relationships, as well as expedite and simplify internal process with Risks, Legal, CMB and Senior Management, in order to execute trades and increase our revenues for FX and Rates Derivatives.
  • As part of the MSS new strategy, we are focused on short term trades with RoRWA return and XVA charges (CVA, DVA & FVA) that are prior to our portfolio hurdle following Compliance and Suitability sales processes.
  • Responsible for serving corporate clients. I provide market services for our Strategic & Focus clients on large Corporate segment, such as: Dish, CMR, GIGS, Gond, AXO, Enginemum Capital, Cuprum, Javer, etc.

  • Envolve in all Bank processes (Risk authorizations, systems, relationship with Bankers, product catalogue, relationship with Structuring, Compliance and Trading team). Dedicated most of my time in visiting my clients and learning about their balance sheets, industry and business strategies.
  • Coverage names: Grupo Alfa, Femsa, Javer, Arca Continental, Gruma, Kimberly Clark, etc. By being their Markets relationship, I was in charge of monitoring pre-approved credit lines, upload any documentation for FX or derivatives transactions, analyzing their hedging needs and help them mitigate any of their balance’s risks. In my day a day I had continuous communication with different areas of the Bank such as: DCM, Syndicated Loans, GTB, Structuring and Relationship Bankers in order to detect new business opportunities and generate cross-selling transactions.

Markets Solutions

  • After the opportunity given by Citibank to rotate at investors Sales Latam desk in New York, the objective was to create with my boss in Mexico a Solutions Investors team, different from the flow business. We were mainly focus on Credit, Equity, Structured Investments and Structured Rate Products.

Investor Sales

  • Investors Sales is divided into 3 products (Fixed Income, Derivatives and Debt Capital Markets). My work was primarily focused in derivatives area as well as DCM.

Derivatives Sales

  • Responsible to advice, quote and involve in the whole process for derivative client’s solutions. Main products: Forwards, Swaps (XCCY, IRS), Asset Swaps, structured notes, options (Rates, FX), etc). Involve with different areas such as legal, relationship managers and risk in order to open new relationships through ISDA contracts and credit lines, as well as modify credit conditions of those already negotiated but with potential for increased business.

DCM Sales

  • I was responsible for primary short-term auctions (weekly) throughout the year. The process involves sale, capturing and clearance. I also support the long-term issuances. The process is very similar to the short-term, however the sale should be done much deeper (correctly prospect customer and understand the needs of the issuer). We work in conjunction with Capital Markets area. Secondary market offer for all roles in which Banamex is a setter.

I started as a trainee in the Mexico Nestle’s Treasury Area in April 2008.

  • As an analyst I used to prepare daily reports in pesos and foreign currencies in connection with the nestle suppliers.
  • Also I preformed analysis and reconciliations on a monthly bases for the different Mexican transportation of securities, in connection with Nestle’s distribution centers (DC ’s).

Accomplishments:

  • The relationships with banks that caused, that the trainee visited the branches everyday was assigned to the mail department, saving a lot of time to me in having more room in productive activities in the corporate offices.
  • I updated the spreadsheets, improving the daily reports of cash flow, adding new valuable and accurate information for de decision of my boss and my team workers. All activities where efficiently done even after restructures.
