In this unit I do activities related to the prevention and health promotion, I check vital signs (body temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate, blood pressure). I offer contraceptive methods, I apply vaccines, I do detections of diabetes mellitus and arterial hypertension. I monitor the weight and height of children under 5 years old and also pregnant.

• I cared and assist the newborns. I taked care of women's during childbirth including monitoring the mother and child during labor. I educated the parents about care for the newborn.
• I was the right hand of the doctor delivering the baby, assisting in any way possible, like assisting with any complications and administering medications during birth, injections and intravenous infusions during labour.
• I cared infants that suffer from medical complications soon after birth, ranging from congenital defects and surgical problems to prematurity.
• I provided treatment and administered medication as proscribed by de NICU physician.
• I am knowledged of NICU equipment, such as a ventilator, incubator, and feeding pumps.
• I collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
