Solar, leading the engineering team designing the company's utility scale tracker systems from 20 MW to 300 MW
Applications Engineer
Sunfolding
09.2021 - 12.2022
Customer-facing engineer engaging utilities on the design, construction, and commissioning of Sunfolding’s solar trackers in solar farm projects
Created standards for internal design process using Solidworks/AutoCAD/Excel data linking and Python scripts
Created categories for standard tracker configurations & associated calculations
Created a system to input raw data and export BoM quantities as well as providing a first cut of site/system configuration, drastically cutting down on design time and engineering manpower requirements -Advise R&D team on feasible design changes to equipment that would lower project cost and increase system operational efficiency, reduce build times, and simplify the overall system
Extensive use of Solidworks FEA in modeling of components - Database creation for future GIS integration and operations management use.
Project Engineer
TC Electric LLC
01.2019 - 01.2021
Led efforts to modernize NYCT’s communications network at the 207th
St Yard by upgrading SONET system to
DWDM fiber network
Served as liason between NYCT’s engineers and TC Electric’s construction management
Coordinated schedules between NYCT and TC Electric crews/subcontractors
-Led field surveys and created database detailing new versus installed equipment and lat/long locations, survey
photos, and as-built drawings using ArcGIS and AutoCAD
-Project scope management, cost management, earned value management.
SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER
Transit Wireless, LLC
01.2017 - 01.2019
Led team of 3 Project Engineers in the design of the Wireless Train Arrival System, a project valued at $20M,
completed ahead of schedule in less than 9 months
Heavy use of Solidworks, Inventor, rapid prototyping and 3D
printing
-Led engineering team exploring the development of the Above Ground Network
Responsible for preliminary project planning, construction scheduling, order scheduling, and project
management up to project kick-off
Work with construction department on any change orders, RFIs, submittals,
purchase requisitions, invoices, schedules; adjust designs as appropriate
Provided leadership, coaching, and mentoring to 3 Project Engineers, ensuring all personnel continue
development of technical and personal skills while achieving design objectives of project
Collaborated with OSP Design Manager, Construction Manager, and Engineering Director to determine team’s
resource requirements for the successful completion of projects
Key Projects:
Wi-Fi B-Division Train Arrival System for 271 Underground and Above Ground Stations Supplemental Dark Fiber for
MTA IT Backhaul
Above-ground Network Expansion – Feasibility Study and Business Development Support
OSP CONSTRUCTION HEAD ENGINEER
Transit Wireless, LLC
01.2016 - 01.2017
Lead team of Design Engineers and Field Engineers in the construction of the Outside Plant portion of the NYC
Subway neutral host DAS system, a project valued at $100M, 18 months ahead of schedule
Resolved RFIs, developed change orders, assisted in estimating, managed inventory levels, and served as
coordinator between Contractor, New York City Transit, and Transit Wireless
Reviewed purchase requisitions for goods and services in Oracle to ensure accurate cost coding and sufficient
materials are being ordered to maintain minimum inventory levels
Review vendor invoices to ensure proper documentation and to ensure invoices are only paid when receiving
records are completed in full
Assisted Project Manager and coordinated with other Project Engineers in order to
ensure all disciplines were aligned to meet common objectives
Coordinate between primary contractors, city agencies, Verizon/ECS, and third party contractors to ensure all
permitting was complete and jobs coordinated in the appropriate build order.
OSP ENGINEER
Transit Wireless, LLC
01.2013 - 01.2016
Responsible for planning, surveying, and design of Outside Plant (OSP) Fiber Network to support the 277
Underground Stations, Base Station Hotels, 3rd Party Backhaul sites, etc
Manage AutoCAD and Inventor design standards, drawing packages, test results, etc
Plan designs in such a way as to balance cost with construction feasibility and rapid deployment
Focus on standardization of designs to minimize rework, redesign, and construction errors
Radio access network planning, modeling and testing using IBWave
LINE DESIGN DRAFTER
TRANSMISSION, Dominion Virginia Power
01.2011 - 01.2013
Created and managed design drawings in AutoCAD, Microstation, Inventor, and Solidworks for transmission-line
related projects
Worked with engineers to create new design of standard switching structure to lower cost of frequent
replacements
Digitized paper records (many of which were incomplete or missing), created a database to manage these and
give Operations Engineers impedance calculations automatically (MS Access)
-Analyses of this data in PLS-CADD for NERC/FERC compliance
