Teacher and Studio Director

KPDC Kpop Class Tijuana
05.2021 - 07.2023
  • KPDC originated around May of 2021, Kpop class Tijuana, as an entreprenure project
designed to bring together people who admire and treasure the Korean culture and assemble a
space for them to express themselves creatively. Through this place, they have found a safe
space to dance, gather, and enjoy the wonderful world of dance and K-pop. All of my trainees'
ages ranged from 9 to 20 years old and had never gone to any dance studio before. Not only
have they progressed in their dance skills and their confidence, but they overcome difficulties
like depression and anxiety they suffered during the pandemic. I had students come from all
over the state of Baja California and the State of California. I would teach in Spanish and help
those who didn’t understand by translating everything I said.

This project allowed me not only to become a teacher, and a translator but also to design my classes, record, and edit my course videos, and create marketing data as part of my
assignment. I was able to showcase my work throughout the most prestigious dancing event of the year in my hometown, the ‘International Dance Day’ at the Tijuana Cultural Center, on May 1st, 2022, organized by the Cultural Affairs Department of Mexico among numerous old and
traditional schools giving the Korean Culture and K-Pop a place in between ballet, contemporary, lyrical, and jazz. I also had the opportunity to present my students by being
invited to the Charity event ‘1er Encuentro de Danza por la inclusión’, which translates to ‘1st Dance encounter for inclusion’, organized by Teleton, the largest association in our country that helps youths in need for their hospitalization and rehabilitation.

With this project I also developed strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues by maintaining open lines of communication and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Worked cooperatively with other teachers, administrators, and parents to help students reach learning objectives.

Managed classroom behavior effectively by establishing clear expectations, modeling appropriate conduct, and consistently enforcing established rules and consequences.

Assisted in creating a safe and nurturing classroom environment that promoted emotional well-being and artistic growth for all students.
