Completed 90-hours of supervised clinicals in med-surg unit, assisting with 6 patients each assigned shift. Managed patients with chronic diseases such as Diabetes, Hypertension, COPD, and Heart Failure. Considered particular treatment needs of the neurological ICU step-down patients, such as frequent neuro checks. Administered medication, assist with wound care, monitoring wound draining systems, management of NG/PEG tubes, and foley catheter care under Med Surg Nurse care.

Responds appropriately to the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of patients. Assesses changes in patients’ conditions by monitoring vital signs, symptoms, test results, and patients’ response to medication and treatment. Administers medication and therapeutic treatment as per physician orders. Acts as a team member and provides input via reporting observations, concerns and asking appropriate questions.
