I consider myself as a creative, collaborative, proactive and empathetic person as well as analytical, strategic thinker and perfectionist. I also have a global vision of both the world and the people conforming it. I am used to work in teams with people from different profiles, to exercise leadership when necessary and to obtain results for continuous improvement.
I'm driven by the mission of enabling companies to grow with a strategic, analytical and innovative focus by developing trusting relationships with the support of methodologies that will drive engagement and change.
New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is the government agency charged with helping New Zealand businesses to grow internationally - bigger, better, faster.
I started my journey at NZTE in January 2011 with a double role as Business Development Associate (BDA) & Office Manager to then evolve to Business Development Manager (BDM).
As a Business Development Manager (BDM) I am a nexus for the arrival and growth of New Zealand companies in the markets of Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean from my base in Mexico City making my knowledge, resources, and connections available to them. I challenge and contribute to business strategies as appropriate through understanding customer value propositions, business models and capabilities.
My sectoral focuses are retail (F&B, consumer goods, tech) and agribusiness. I am driven by knowing and focusing on export consumers, both in B2C and B2B models, with the aim of understanding their needs and creating great customer experiences for them.
During my time as office manager, I was in charge of Mexico office operations such as: project/program management, events and marketing, facilities and properties, finances and budgets, human resources, corporate relations, and planning.
JATRADE was the Jalisco International Trade Board from the Ministry of Economic Development.
I was in charge of the North American region helping companies from Jalisco to get into USA and Canada in traditional sectors such as: F&B (including tequila), footwear, handcrafts and furniture. I helped companies to develop their entry strategy to North America from identification of new prospects, to developing an understanding of client needs and mapping those needs with planning and strategic selling.
Also, I was able to conduct more than 20 trade missions to USA and Canada as part of the international strategy from State Government related to the sectors I was involved in.
I led the sisterhood relations from Jalisco in North America: Maryland, Manitoba, Idaho, Washington, Alberta, Kentucky.
